Weird. Yeah. I'm having the same issue after I updated my NVIDIA. The :gl fix unfortunately doesn't work for me either. Darn. Mine happens when loading my character, rather than clicking on it though.

Edit: For now, I just rolled back the driver and it works.

Is the base client still on the dolda2000 repo?

no, the current location is at git://fludd.seatribe.se/client these days.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

After some googling, it seems others are running into similar troubles with other Java-based OpenGL games (Minecraft, Starmade).
In other words, it appears to be on NVIDIA's end.

Oh, great. You're around. I compiled the client (the paaaain) on a new windows installation with the new drivers after the old ones failed, and i found which bit of code the base client had different from yours. Compiled version seems to work tho i have apparently managed to misplace the farmer mode trees.

src/haven/GLstate.java 433 through 442 on your repo, the way they handle the REQ case.

I copied the base client stuff here for my own benefit , https://github.com/lachlaan/salemtinker ... State.java

I threw you a pull request, do be warned about whatever i may have broken in the process but the client starts at least where before it didn't xD

Yeah, I saw the pull request.
However, it doesn't seem to actually do anything beyond removing a null-pointer safety check, so it's a bit weird that this would solve the issue. I'll have a look tonight, I hope one of my older computers will be able to reproduce the issue after a driver update.

Okay, I triple checked. The recompiling is what did the trick. Just downloaded your up to date repo and compiled and it works, whereas the launcher grabs files that don't work. Try recompiling the client files perhaps? I'll check what versions of the jogl files the updater throws in and if they're different from what I had before.

Edit: Even weirder, starting it with the launcher.jnlp makes it crash while starting it with a batch file makes it work :\ This being presumably the same lsalem.jar file.

Edit2: Played with it some more and that's as close as I can get to a fix, either revert drivers or start it with a batch file.
