I'd like to ask whether this is still supported?
I can merge the maps from command line, but what should I do to merge them all together to get a full map (resulting 1 directory or 1 giant jpeg file)?
The SalemMapTool can not export too many tiles.

Gabe.

That is the big sikrit !!!

Have you disabled the export whole map option in SalemMapTool? Only export the tiles. That should get you going again, you'll eventually run into other problems however. The current map is so large SalemMapTool crashes often, but that's another topic.

Haven't much time and interest to develop this tool. Work stopped at the advanced hashing aglorithm. Speed-up was the primary target. So, version 4.x is still in develop, but develop is in stagnation :)

MapMerger merges all the possible pieces, so as a result you have biggest possible glued pieces. And the biggest one is in the biggest directory.
The purpose of this tool is not to glue all the tiles to the one big JPEG (PNG actually), but to optimize pieces to the bigger ones.
In the case of interest I can write a console tool for glueing a directory to the one big PNG file, but, first, looks like there is already such a tools; second, it's more comfortable to watch your maps in the browser.

I'm working on new version of MapMerger based on pixel by pixel comparison instead of hashing.
New version will be capable to merge tiles with ridges to tiles without ridges and other sessions with similarity less than 100%.
Hope it will be implemented in a week.
Stay tuned ;)

okay... i thought i was smart....

but how do you watch your maps in browser? (what am i missing?)

i know at some level you could do what the map guy is doing and create a google map... but is there an easier smaller way for a personal map?

From the sources dir download files map.html and currentsession.js.
Put this files to the maps folder.
Open currentsession.js in text editor and replace session name with one you want to view, save the file.
Open map.html in your browser.
