Claeyt's Magical Radar Clutter Fix (for Lat's and Ender's)

Here's how you fix your radar if you're using Lat's client. It removes all the clutter spawns like reeds, autumn grass, gneiss etc... but leaves all the normal forage spawns from the regular client's radar. It makes all the animals a different color for Identification purposes and includes Lat's custom stuff. It maintains Lat's options list for his Radar list.

Here's how you fix your Radar:

I've tried to explain this as simply as possible so that those of you with no experience at this can do it. Also I suck at Computers.

1. Find your Radar in C:/Users/<Name>/Salem/radar.xml

2. Highlight and Right Click radar.xml and choose 'open with' Notepad. Choose 'File' then 'Save As' and change the file name to 'backupradar' and press 'Save'. This will back up the standard radar settings for Lat's client in the Salem folder in case you ever want to go back. You should see 'backupradar' above in the Salem file there.

3. Highlight and Right Click radar.xml and choose 'open with' Notepad. Highlight the entire thing, Right Click and choose 'Cut'.

4. Go to the upper right corner of this post and choose 'Quote'. Highlight everything in-between the 2 spoiler markers, Right Click the highlighted list and choose 'Copy'.

5. Go into the completely empty Notepad window, Right Click and choose 'Paste'. Make sure there are no lines above the first <radarConfig> or below the second one. Do not include the [spoiler] markers. Make sure all the indents and tabs are included in the Notepad version of the list.

6. In Notepad go to 'File' and choose 'Save'. It should save as radar.xml. Close Notepad. Confirm it saved it by Highlighting radar.xml, Right click on it and open with 'Internet Exploreer' to see if it's correct. Close all windows.

7. Close all open clients of Salem. Re-open a client. Test the radar. Enjoy.

8. I have not confirmed all the flowers show up. I need confirmation that Singing old logs, Snowballs and 4-leaf clovers are working in it. I need a line and color Mother Bats and all the new creatures. Please Pm me if I missed anything or if you have any questions. I'd love feedback from those of you with better Radar configs than mine in case I missed anything or screwed anything up. Please give me lines to add to this Radar List when they add new stuff.

Instead of using notepad I would suggest install notepad+++. If you ever do anything close to editing html or scripts in the future you will be thankful you installed it.

Thanks, I copied some of that.

Also note when you create groups, they show in settings as a checkbox, so you can toggle them in-game. For example these 2 groups I use sometimes:

Not bad i'd just suggest you make all mobs circular like on mine that way you have more to work with so that squirrels fur furs wishpoosh and every other new mob isn't a pink diamond.

actually - my personal radar has the normal mobs as diamonds and the darkness mobs as down triangles. I've found it works like a charm for distinguishing :)

Curious question. I seem to not have the Sturdy Sled cache in my files. Anyone know why I am missing said file? I do however have the cart.cached

And thank you biskvito i used both your codes to a point. This one section happens to stump me.

No problem, I think I couldn't find the file either. :)

Btw I changed the transport colors to something a bit darker, since they were looking too similar to kinned players.

So does the sled show up on your radar? Sturdy sled not the Frontier Sled/wildsled.cached?

And I made the colors to a personal preference and added a few things to your first code. Such as my area is chopped full of Daisies. So I changed fern to daisy and added rotten logs. A very usefull little tidbit.
