Fireplace/texture issue

So I was walking around, fooling with my incredibly advanced firemaking techniques. And I figured "Meh, it's time for a break, let's cook some fish".

Proceeded to assemble the most technologically advanced, perfectly built fireplace. Filled it with wood, took my trusty tinder, lit the fire and
BOOM MY EYES

Half the textures are gone. My menu is gone. My inventory is un-seeable. I'm now half naked.

Did I put something bad in the fire, got high on fumes, or something like that?

(Seriously, this is weird.)

(Using Enders, did not have any problem at all until that. Any one have any idea how to fix it?)
