Anyone have any insight on this?

It accepts my name and password, but then tells me:
"Cannot connect to Server"

Im using Java 7
I tried turning off my firewall completely and restarting
not sure what else to try

help?!

Have you logged in with the vanilla client first? (the one downloaded via the account menu at the top of the forums).

There's some kind of account verification code that requires you log into the vanilla client at least once before custom clients function.

Edit: The server also appears to have been down recently, that could be the other possibility. I think both give the same error message.
