Missing Locked Iron Chest in Major city

I like other players on Jamestown have been using locked Iron Chest as a "Safer Town Trading" between alts and other players. i was in the room the Locked Iron Chest was in and the server kicked me offline. When i logged back in my chest was GONE .. thinking maybe someone ran off with it, i quickly remembered i left an item in it so it could NOT be picked up. i quickly checked the other 3 Locked Iron Chests in Jamestown,( 1 behind the bank and 2 in another building) all gone. Seems the server was either rolled back or someone was using Iron boxes on OTHER servers to grief people in town (blocking doors and the such) and the DEVs decided to clean the towns of expensive "Litter". BUT on Jamestown everyone was being responsible and mature with their Lock Iron Boxes and not grieving other players. Still Not sure what happened if it was unintentional removal or intentional, but why punish everyone for the acts of others. Devs could easily remove the offending boxes and punish the players responsible for putting it there by deleting their boxes ONLY. but seems even responsible players were hit on this one.. if you dont want us putting Locked Iron Boxes in town, please give us warning so we can remove them and PLEASE give some sort of player to player trade system besides boxes where i get ripped off 50% of the time.. i am tired of BEING A HERMIT because i cant trust people in game yet because there is no way to punish someone for not putting the silver in after taking your goods.. lol

Warning was given many times. Devs have said they will be removing stuff built in towns and they have done it multiple times already

besides, how is that more secure than the barrels? It means going through the pain of giving a key to everyone you trade with. if you just take care who has access to the barrels, there's no problem

i dont have to give keys to everyone i trade with.. i give to keys to everyone in my group and a few people i trade with (that i know in the real world). BUT after much hunting and looking through STICKY POSTS i was unable to find something that stated if Items were left in Town they will be Removed by the DEVs. I figured something that important might need a sticky post ( you know not everyone has been playing since the game started, and new players are NOT going to dig through 500 pages of forum topics just to find out if they can put things in town) if the GAME MECHANICS ALLOW me to drop a chest in town then one must ASSUME that it is intentionally done, if not how hard would it have been to NOT ALLOW players to even drop CHESTS in town. but i Believe that something like this deserves a sticky post maybe title it "Why we dont want things players built in our town " and then the Devs can give a reason why they dont want things players made to be in their town. can someone show me the link to the Sticky post that states the Devs will delete things left in town, because like i said "NEW PLAYERS" are not going to go digging through 400 pages of forum topics, they just look at the sticky post at the top, and Under the FAQ there is NO Mentioned about the how the DEVs will remove items left in town.

maybe the Moderator of this Forum should make a Section called "Rules For New Players" and fill it things like this. but make it fun to read, things like "Objects left unattended in town will become property of the King and will be removed to be used by the Crown".. just an idea. but if i could get a link to the topic it talks about this, maybe it will have other USEFUL information i can use to not make MISTAKES like putting a chest in town again.

The devs have stated that they dislike having player made objects in town. Especially immobile objects. Reason: No cluttering.

i do not expect my chest returned, i just think maybe it should be in a sticky post or add it to one of the Sticky posts already there, just to inform new players so they don't get upset and turned off to the game. needs to be a Rules for new players section. the FAQ is very helpful.. but i cant seem to find anything in the sticky posts about how items left in town will be removed. once again i dont need the chest back(only 5 iron bars .. not a big deal ) but i think people who have not been playing as long as others will not know about this and could get upset ( 5 iron bars to a new player might be a lot to them), and i dont want to lose anymore new players because the game is really confusing.. ( i would have been lost if not for 3 things.. This Forum (i do A LOT of reading, but very little posting), http://salemwiki.info/index.php/Main_Page , and Players who took the time to create Youtube videos. but mostly i use this forum to understand the mechanics behind the game..) and i will use this as a lesson learned, but i think things like this that the DEVs dont want people to do should be made more clear in the FAQ for new players.

Researching known issues and what are considered legitimate game mechanics or exploits is up to the user. It's a part of participating in a beta program. If you can't afford the potential loss, you shouldn't be playing around in grey areas.
