Hello. I used to be a beta tester before the wipe, I went ahead and migrated my account smoothly before downloading the new client in order to try the game out once more.

Unfortunately, regardless of what solution I try, I cannot go past the "Authenticating" message, as it fails every time and sends me back to the login screen with a "Connection timed out connect" error message. This is what I tried so far (javaw, javaws and salem.jnlp were all allowed by my firewall).

1- Clean uninstall then reinstall of Java 7
2- Clean install of Java 6 after completely removing my Java 7
3- Tried using a wrong password on purpose to see if I'll get a different error message, I got the same "Connection timed out connect" message.
4- Tried using custom clients (Ender's), did not work.
5- Sent a ping message to the server's IP, I got a reply.

6- I used tracert as well, and this is the only option that actually showed what could possibly be the issue.

As you can see, although it does reach the game's server in the end, something definitely goes wrong during the second iteration. And the message shown there is basically a Connection timed out error message.

If anyone has any propositions I would gladly hear them and thank you in advance.

ISP problem, firewall issues on computer or router, antivirus software blocking connection?

I don't see how it could be an ISP problem, my internet's working fine and I can acess the salem website as you can see. And as I stated, I made sure to give access to javaw, javaws and salem.pnlg, those are the three main components I think, I also tried logging in after completely turning off my firewall, I still couldn't login, I did the same with my antivirus.

EDIT: And what I find weird, is that i could play with no issues during the previous Beta, when I first tried to play again a couple days ago I had the exact same setup I had during the previous beta, I don't see how this could be a problem on my end then.
I don't know if this is of any use but I live in Morocco.

Any idea what server that is at hop 2 that is taking so long to respond it's no providing any times? How do you connect to the internet? May be absolutely nothing wrong on your end of it, but whatever you're connecting into may be having issues.

I wish I could find out. As you could see, tracert does not give any info related to the server in question... I'm connected to my personal router, my ADSL line has an 8 MB connection speed.
This is a bit disheartening, I'll try getting the client on my laptop and try playing from there, if I get the same problem I'll try using a different wi-fi network, if even that doesn't work... Then I probably won't get to play Salem anymore >:(

It could be your modem flaking out or the ISP's switching station. Might check with your ISP (if provided by your service) or the modem's documentation.

I suppose I should assume there's no possible fix right ? My modem's working fine, I can access more demanding games with no problem and I doubt my ISP will provide any kind of help with this matter.

The problem is not the game, or the connection to the game. The problem is with your own personal computer/network configurations, and possibly your ISP's routing set up.

Same here. What port is uses for login?

UDP port 1870 and TCP port 1871?
