Bump? I was reading on the forums and it sounds like there is no fix for this retarded problem. Time for me to look for a different sandbox?

Check you network connection. You likely have a router that's blocking things. Most routers have built in firewalls you need to configure. You can check to see if this is the problem by trying to connect via another network.

Salem requires ports TCP 1871 and UDP 1870 to connect. Also, some specific models of a German manufactured router has been known to have connection issues in the past (not sure if this will apply to you or not). I'm not sure if these can be resolved through firmware updates or will need to be replaced. The only resolution I've seen members here mention in the past is replacing the router.

Please don't bump threads that are only an hour old. It's spam and not even necessary when your post is still on the first page of the forum.

Yeah a game that makes me work lol. Well they should send out emails when they get it working without me having to buy a new router  Off to planetside

Hi,

I was facing the same issue and I found a solution:

Open the Run dialog (Windows Key + R)
paste the follow line: setx _JAVA_OPTIONS -Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

You may see a black screen appear and disappear very quickly.

Run the game again.

hope that work to you
