Never heard of that before. A very scary bug if it is one.
It's been neat to see the evolution of a game. Salem has come so far, and still has far to go. Although frustrating, I think it's been an experience worth the effort.

I think it's safe to say this is definitely a bug. Moving this to bug reports.

The important question is what type of scent was it? Trespassing disappears real fast, but it sounds to me like you're talking about assault or whatever the ko scent is here.

Ok thanks; I can't be 100% sure this is the case as I have not tested it. It just appears to be what has happen; very confusing either way.

It should still be confirmed as such. As Sevenless says, trespassing scents disappear quickly (8 hrs?). I'm not sure anyone would bother covering that up, though.

Another question: does it matter what's built? Could it be something moveable like a basket or crate or does it have to be more permanent like a fireplace or fencepost.

Every time you enter an area you have a chance of seeing some of the scents.

As Sabinati said, you always have a CHANCE to see the scent.
Cant see it but you know its here?
Simply reset the area by getting out of sight and entering it again [houses are useful].

I dont know where the idea of this as a bug comes from...

Partly my fault. Didn't think of verifying the variable visibility first.
