Stake Claim bug. Stuck in someone else's claim.

Postby quakar » Sat Dec 29, 2012 3:53 am

So Weird bug, or at least I think its a bug. This is my first day playing and I was having a lot of fun. I was wondering around like I usually do, and found a random writ of claim laying on the ground. I decided to pick it up and use it to build my first settlement. Well it appears that these writs bind to the original owner because when I struck my claim of land, I became trapped. Every time I try to move it says "this land is owned by someone else", and every time I try to fast travel it says "you can not do that right now". Is there anything I can do to get out of this mess?

Not a bug. More like a giant insect that is about to eat you, unless you drop everything in your inventory (or use/eat/equip whatever you can) and teleport back to Boston. That is the only solution.
Well, there is another one, actually. That would be to find the one that just trolled you and send him your location, and either he'll K.O. you or declaim it just for you. Or stand aside and eat freshly baked warm popcorn watching you carbonize in agony. Might also put some humus or turkey droppings in your face just for lulz. Or plant a tree next to you to see who will grow faster. Or lure a bear to you and build the split rail cage around ya to see who shall be the (obvious) survivor in that mortal kombat.
Either way, it's your call, since you're the one stuck in quicknubsand.

NB:
The thing is, the writ of homesteading is locked to the person that bought it, no matter who actually used it to make the stake claim. It is known (It is known.) to be quite a common attempt to troll newbies.
I used to be a pilgrim like you. Then I took an Indian arrow in the head...

It says right on the item that it won't belong to you. Your only choice is to move next to it and wait for the silver to go out or head to boston. You can turn on criminal acts and leave but don't try to steal or stand on the claim. If you run out of black bile you will be KO on there for 24 hours.

The thing is, I did empty my inventory and tried to teleport out, but because Im trespassing the game isn't letting me teleport.

Edit:I just figured out how to turn on criminal acts. That let me leave the area. Finally. :P

You're tresspassing with criminal acts off. Try turning them on and go to the city. If your claim is far from that place you'll be completely fine. Also, file a bug report: http://www.seatribe.se/bt/enter_bug.cgi?product=Salem .
