Salem

I searched and have seen this reported before, but the topics were old and didn't offer any solutions to my problem so I wanted to see if more information was available with a new topic.

Basically I can't move or interact at all with my mouse. My mouse still works fine for the menus, and I can zoom in and out and pitch the camera with the middle mouse button, but moving and interacting with the game using the mouse doesn't work. I can still move with WASD, but I can't progress the game at all because I can't talk to the guy in a brown hat.

Have any solutions been discovered? Is there any additional info I can provide that might be helpful?

I'm running Java 7 update 9, no mods.

I have the same problem.

Would you mind very briefly listing the things you did try just in case you missed one? Last one I remember seeing was to muck with video settings, like 32 bit vs 16 bit... Forum posts can be tricksy to find sometimes. But yeah I don't think any new information would surface about bugs like that without them being somewhere on the forum, unless they sneak their way straight into the bug tracker or something like that.

And of course, make sure to try the modded clients from enders and latikai as well just in case those somehow work when the vanilla doesn't.

I also cannot use the mouse to talk to man in hat, so I can't play

As far as I can tell Salem will only work with 24 and 32bit. Everything below that and your 'map/terrain clicks' won't be registered properly.

I'm having this problem too - I'm thinking it could be something to do with my "retina display", as that has caused problems with other programs before. Did anyone find a solution?

(nb: default client, can't get others to work at all yet :p)

Are you on new mac? You could run salem without problems like year ago so just asking. I have no clue about macs but are you using new operating system?(maybe someone with more knowledge about macs will know what was changed between your old and new sys) Does h&h still works for you?
