No way with Ren Shadow (video option)

Hello all,

I made i mistake, i touched the Video Option and flag the Shadow rendering. So now i cannot change it and obviously i cannot play anymore cause the game crash.

1 - i delete all the temporary file in java (also the app installed)
2 - i delete all .bin files of salem
3 - i download again the game hoping to start with a "fresh new" installation and to reset in this way that visual option.

but nothing going to works, any idea or i have to say goodbye to Salem? dont tell me to format the computer cause i dont do that simply for a game

I really would like to try this interesting game, but it is really plenty of bugs (also for a beta version :\ ).

Set "shadows" to false in the salem.cfg file, located at the C:\Users\Username\Salem

I had the same problem and I just clicked the "make new character" button and I changed very fast the video options when it loaded.

I have the same issue, except I can't find any "Salem" folder on my computer, period. Am I screwed forever?

I've done a full search of all drives for "Salem".
Not a single thing appears to work save for the launch short cut.
The file location of the short cut takes me to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Javaws.exe.
I don't know what to do with this.
I'm using Windows 7.

The game does not appear on my "Programs List".
I can still run the game and log in.
Upon entering the world, my video card overloads and ends Salem.
I can't find a way to remotely turn off shadows or un-install Salem, because I apparently have no client-side files.

I have no idea how it's working without client side files.

Try using ender client. Cause it might be that default client does not create "salem" folder with settings stored in it

Run ender client once then exit and edit salem.cfg(in salem folder) with text editor:
shadows=true
to:
shadows=false

If default client doesnt create salem folder then probably its possible to fix this by clearing java cache. How to:

I finally found a "Salem" folder. Hopefully I can manage it.

Still doesn't work.

Well, after several insane attempts, I deleted java, javaw, and javaws, re-installed Java, and was finally quick enough to log in and un-check shadows.

Even though I can play perfectly fine, now; I don't think that solves the core problem.
