Boston knockouts and lootings

Hi,

I'm a new player so forgive me if this is already know, but I just got glitched and lost all my stuff including a nice chunck of silver. Here's what happened:

I fast traveled to boston and was in the town square helping someone one. I wasn't really paying much attention as my chat window was open and I wanted to help the other newbie with fishing. There was a guy carrying a beaver around and he dropped it next to me. It promply smacked me twice and I was down and out. The same player then looted me of all my items including silver I had in my inventory as I was going to town to buy a purse. As a side note, I did nothing to the beaver as I was in chat and all of a sudden I was knocked out. Only 5 blood does that I guess.

Now my understanding is boston is the one and only safe area so getting knocked out there was kinda meh as my guard was down. I'd love to get the silver back and everything, but I know that's not very likely. I lost a lot of nice items too (3 tumbleweeds, 4 dew drops, marbles, savage charm, and 59 silver) so it was a bit sad face. That being said it's karma as I stole most of that, including the silver from another player. The difference being I stole it "legally" where as I got hit in the safe zone so.... o well. The sad part is I won't be lingering in boston with good items anymore so helping others is right out most of the time. :(

Other than this, all is all I'm loving salem. It seems to run very smoothly and with only a few errors like trying to pick up items next to cliffs or a small problem with walking around in shallow water without swimming.

Thanks,
Lunar Crow

Happened to me aswell. Someone introduced the city square to many different creatures. The beaver got me in the end. Lost some stuff and some silver, but I guess its the nature of the game. Writing about it in forums wont get the stuff back.

It's a known bug. For now we just have to deal with it. If someone does cause a creature to aggro on you, you can try ducking in a building to break combat. Or, if you have enough humors, just kill the annoying pest.

How do you carry a live critter? I always assumed people who did this were just training the critter into town and then running around other people until it hit someone else. A jerk move for sure, but not something I would consider a bug.

You can't carry a live critter. Turkeys, on the other hand, aren't killed and I forget the deal, but when you drop them, they eventually wake up and start attacking.

The bug is that you can loot someone's unconscious body in the Boston claim, and if I recall correctly, without leaving scents.

You need larceny, and criminal acts engaged to loot KO'd bodies in Boston. It does leave scents.

This needs fixing asap. Thanks to the publicity it received recently there are many people doing this now.

I don't see how hard it can be to disable criminal acts inside Boston, player killing is already disabled.

Disabling criminal acts is good, but not enough. After KO player will port home with all his inventory dumped on the ground, so it can be picked up without any scents. Plus proficiencies will decrease a bit. I believe any agressive animal, or animal in aggro should just disappear if on Boston claim. There's drawback to such solution, though - newbies won't be able to train hunting on crickets/rabbits under relative safety of Boston.

I think disallowing criminal acts will deter this behavior from being common without the need for more drastic action. People do it at the moment because they can dry loot half a dozen players for a decent amount of silver.

Why similar themes appear in this section? All of the action takes place in the framework of a game mechanic. No bugs was not used. Luchshe type of punishment for offending players on the ground of any nationality.
