Dross has almost no hitbox for picking it up. Dropped dross mostly stays dropped.

Im not sure if I do understand what you want to say. Do you mean its impossible or nearly impossible to pick up the dropped dross?
If yes I can assure you Ive never experienced any problems picking up dross.

I think he understood me, he just doesn't have that problem. Is it possible this is an enders issue? I've NEVER been able to pick up dross and I always thought it was smelters, but couple days ago I dropped some and couldn't click on it to pick it up despite trying for a good 5-6 minutes. I can usually get the first piece, but then none after that.

I use enders and have never had this problem..

Sevenless, have you tried using Freestyle Camera Type and lowering (+ zooming in) your view perspective in Ender's client?

Yep, no luck. No idea what's causing it then.
