Try updating your graphics drivers first. If that doesn't help, you could completely uninstall and reinstall the game to turn the graphics option back off?

i did that and it didnt work and i deleted the folder that holds the map and cache and then downloaded salem again but now that folder hasnt come back and i still get the get in game after character selection then i get the luike buttons like options invetory etc and the map and that stuff but thte game is black then it freezes then everything on my pc goes black it comes back then salem is white and everything else is normal im so confused i tried java 6 and 7 no difference i havent even gotten to play yet :'(
