invalid or corrupt jarfile

Postby WallaceHart » Wed Oct 04, 2017 1:09 pm

Hello guys, hope this is the right place to post this, but nevertheless let me begin. I installed java and opened the file with it but now when i'm trying to install the game it says ''invalid or corrupt jarfile''. Do you know any fix to that? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that the when i downloaded the file it said this type of file can harm your computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

Welcome to Salem.
Let me greet you to one of my favorite quotes which accurately depicts this game...
"Abandon hope all ye who enter here"
Edit:
On topic, i have no idea how to help you.

If you are using one of the custom clients, delete C:\Users\<you>\Salem\bin and try again.
If you are using the default client: try clearing the java cache.
I have neither the crayons nor the time to explain it to you.

Thanks a lot, really appreciate the advice! I managed to get the game to run but unfortunately i've come across another problem. When i logged in with my account a black screen showed up and the game wouldn't run. After a bit of waiting it logged me out. From what i've read on the forums it's probably an internet connection problem. Doubt i'll find a fix to that but anyways thanks again. Best regards!
