Stockbins

Postby hoolio2005 » Mon Nov 14, 2016 4:10 am

so to day i put about 64 copper or in a stockbin that had over 300 iron ore in it , i logged off for a few hours and when i returned to take out the copper it turned in to iron ore. this makes me wonder if there is an exploit there. will 64 iron ore turn to copper ore if copper is more then iron in the bin, or anyother ore for that matter.

Doesn't sound like anything I have heard of before.

Mystery solved. Still quite odd that it shuffled to the bottom. It should be a LIFO on the stockbins no?

It works that way with bars. I was about to go to sleep or I'd try with ores.

I have put boards in a stockbin that where mixed and taken them out right away being the last one put in is first one taken out. maybe its something to do with leaving the chunk or logging off.

What type of data structure is used with stockbins?

It looks the order of stockbin contents is reversed when map tile unloads/loads. It can be exploited to access items at the bottom.
By the way, reversing order (but no position change) can be observed for smelters too and that might be important when trying to manipulate purity. One needs to pay attention to purity numbers to notice that.
Most likely all containers reverse their item order on map unloading/loading but it does not matter gameplay wise (but might help looking for it in the code).
