Destruction bug

I recently attempted to destroy a stump... sword was equiped... and destruction was in increments of 6%... even though I had shovel in journeyman tool-belt.

If I manually swapped sword for shovel, destruction jumped to 10% increments.

I know for creations and such tools are automatically pulled appropriate to task; shouldn't destruction work the same way if the right tool is available?

I was chopping blocks the other day and my halberd equipped instead of my metal axe, so yeah, noticed this too

Weapons arent meant to go to toolbelts afaik. Just dig before you destroy a stump.

Yeah, this is the easiest way to workaround, but IIRC it doesn't matter what tool you have, the server just doesn't register that a shovel is optimal for destroying even though anything works for it... Unlike when butchering it does know that a knife is optimal for butchering despite any tool sufficing.

So yeah, definitely agree it's a bug, or "wrong behavior" (depends how you define bug), although a rather benign one.

When calculating 'damage' done to something we do not automatically force the equip of the most logical 'tool' for the job. I do have hopes to implement additional 'destruction' weapons/items etc. and when we do I think we will follow the trend that it is on the user to equip the smartest thing for the demolish at hand.
