Having a bit of trouble with interaction

Hey there, I recently started playing but I find myself being unable to interact with anything in the game. For example if I right click on some grass it gives me the option to "pick" but when i click that, nothing happens and it takes away my mouse control from the game, so I can't click anything else but I occasionally find that I can use hotkeys but still unable to move/close the "pick" button. I reload the client and then i can move/interact with stuff again but as soon as I try and pick something or open etc etc again, It locks up again leaving me unable to gather any materials.
Am I just being silly in the sense of not pressing the right key to pick it up or is my client bugging out or something?

Sounds like a bug. Are you running special clients? Enders has trouble with Java 7 but this is definitely a new bug I haven't heard of.

To elaborate on my troubles I have taken a screenshot Which highlights the button i am referring too when i get stuck
once this happens, the game still plays and functions, i can see people walking around and doing stuff, but i cannot click on anything else or move and have resort to closing the client , then it repeats itself if I try to interract with another thing

I think I may understand what is going on here. When you open up that radial menu, it activates a set of hotkeys (1-x) to use that menu. If you push some other button (such as using keyboard movement), for some reason focus is lost off the menu and it gets locked "open." In this state, you lose mouse control. Try hitting the Esc key several times and see if that clears it.

i see where you are coming from, however after testing it, pressing 1 produces the same affect as if i were to click it, which makes pressing escape not work also since it seems to lock everything else down until i restart the client

Do you use some non-standard keyboard / mouse?
Do you play on Mac / Windows or linux? If windows then which one and do you have some accessibility features enabled?

Standard gaming mouse and keyboard, Windows7 64bit and i'm not entirely sure what you mean by acessibility features but i think you mean along the lines of onscreen keyboard so i'll say no i do not use them.

Onscreen keyboard, sticky keys, and a few others. It could be some sort of software you're running on your system. To extend Procne's line of thinking, you could have other drivers for keyboard and mouse that are interfering somehow (Logitech has had issues with mouse drivers in the past).
I was playing around a little bit a couple of days ago and noticed the escape key doesn't quite function the same way it did. I may have the right answer but the wrong solution. I don't have time to test right now, but I'll see if I can reproduce this sometime today. If you can, try to take note of every single key press and click. I know it's a lot to ask, but it could be something simple you're doing or something complex in the client taking many actions to break.
