Cave In On Smelter

Hi, I wrote a thread in the help section with a problem I was having and someone said it sounded like a bug and that I should report it to JC here.
Basically, a cave-in happened and dropped tiles which have merged with my smelter. The smelter now has a skin of mine walls around it that I am unable to mine to make them disappear. The smelter is still functional when you right click the mine walls and works as if nothing is wrong. Maybe the cave-in should destroy the smelter like I was expecting?
Anyway, it looks daft, here is a screenshot...

Hmm looks like cave-in situations should destroy whatever the new mine tiles land on.

Hah, I was wondering what would happen in that case. The same thing happened to me with the mine ladder itself, oddly enough. (pre ramp patch) Same thing, could use it still even though it was fully inside the mine blocks... I guess because they have such a generously small hitbox?
But yeah, +1 that they should destroy whatever they fall on. (except if it's a ramp I guess, not sure how that even happened exactly lol)

It's not a bug, we intend it to work that way. Mine tiles could destroy what they land on, probably, but what if it was a chest of silver bars or rare/valuable items? I think more people would be upset about things being destroyed.

So you are saying it would be better if cave-ins destroyed what they landed on.

Lol, exactly, just means people need to be less lazy and build more supports lest more sacrificial tears be harvested for The Carver.

Couldn't have said it better

i remember a cave-in destroying one of my sheds. but that's been several patches ago
samething with smelters in our mine. "somenme" (not me) had a cave-in to close to them.
sometimes the walls block the use of buildings and can't be mined too. that sucks ...
