last night before the season changed I was fishing like normal up the coast in Prov, now that its summer they seem to have stopped. I made about 20-30 casts this morning and didnt get a bite, went home, 1 cast in the river got me a silt dweller. back to prov, again, no fish off 10 casts. Halp

edit: got 1 red finned mullet off about another 15 or so casts, so now I dunno  still pretty low compared to yesterday

edit 2: now it seems to be working more normally, got 4 total out of this spot.. maybe Neptune was just pissed off at me for a little bit?

Now I can be way out there with this theory, because I have not done any in-game fishing extensively to prove it, but it could be that it is linked to season just how it is IRL.

Fishing during Spring/Autumn IRL will yield you bigger and more fish than in the summer, so it could be the same here in relation to Cold snap and Everbloom.

I thought that, but i assume the seasons are supposed to be winter/summer (although your right if it is spring/fall) so i assumed I would get more in summer than in winter. weights seemed about the same though, a few .50's, couple 1.xx and i think 2 over 2kg but not high enough for the boards. I tried 3 or 4 spots along the coast, the first 3 I didnt get anything, after coming back to town I went to a 4'th and everything seemed normal, then I went back to the first spot or 2 and it seemed to work fine again. I've always fished ALOT in this game, even when we had the ****** rock paper scissors game. never went that many casts without any action . as of now I'll assume it was some kind of serious bad luck stroke, but I'll keep at it and if it happens again, we can maybe just mark it up to pattern with the seasons.

since the system has been at least slightly changed, that does kind of negate my old data, so i cant say for sure I guess :P

To be honest, wintertime yields even more fish than Spring/Summer/Autumn does, but it is just harder to get to the fish since you have to make a hole in the ice.

But who knows, it might just be RNG based and you just got really unlucky for a while.

The seasons aren't winter / summer, nor spring / autumn. Salem world is constantly in autumn. And everbloom / coldsnap are just alternating phases of autumn - the sunny one and the cold one.

That actually makes sense.

And then if we assume that fish yield is based on weather/season, then you should recieve more during Cold snap because fish doesn't like heat from the sun. But could be just RNG.

I'm going to go with that for now, as it does make sence.. The rivers seem to be going at the same rate as yesterday though, so ill put some time in there and see how that goes today.

Are you fishing at the exact same spot all the time? Because fish schools do also move around. We didn't change that part.

I have been moving, just came back to boston to give it another shot though, the river i was at was very active, although im sure im sharing spots on the boston claim with other fishermen, so, that could be what it is too i suppose. 1 spot was totaly fished out apparently, but the others were slow. Ill find a spot a ways out and see how it goes

Ok heres what I got, and I'm now thinking it's probably lure related...

Image

The green dot counts as river, I get maybe 1 fish per 3 casts (lowball number) and the orange dot counts as ocean, there, with the same rig, I get about 1 fish per 6-7 casts. Both were done with a makeshift pole and tasty sink-knot.

Image

Spot 2, same color code, same results, same lures, same numbers.

Now I wish I had paid more attention yesterday when I was at spot 2, slightly south of it anyways, because it felt like I was getting about as many as I was from my home river. The only spot I'm not having any luck at was the end of the long pier, which I assume has probably had it's share of people fishing at in the last few days. Thats also where I got 0-20. Also, just to make note of it, both yesterday and today I am getting the same fish out of both spots, silt dwellers and trunk nose, the day before I was using cricket moths at both spots and getting different fish out of both spots, silt dwellers and trunk nose at the river, seabass and some trout or something out of the ocean.

Probably not a bug at this point, feel free to move this thread somewhere else so I can keep collecting data from anyone who wants to help out, and ill try some different lures later and see if that changes things
