Crashed while Exiting Area

So my game crashed because the area I was loading had too much to load at once.

The problem is that there is a gate that is right in front of the mine entrance so when I try to log back on it tells me I must drop my inventory.

NOW, as much as I would like to drop my inventory and just pick it back up I run the risk of items exploding around and being under the walls, the mine, etc.
The gate was left open but the game doesn't care and reads the gate as being closed and being in the way of my character logging in.

(This happens alot when I enter my mine too because of if I have not entered in a while, when I do enter it has to load all the turkey coops in sight and all the eggs, turkey droppings, etc being loaded. Which I don't need to worry about because I don't get stuck and I can just relog and everything is fine in that scenario)

I wouldn't really care to lose my inventory except that I have some store bought items in my backpack. Throwing away cash is not really my cup of tea.

Update: I got a townmate to destroy the gate and then I could log in, but this should be changed in a patch in the future.

I often crash or fail to load graphics when I port to town on Providence when using a particular custom client. To avoid this, when I know I'm going to town I load up the vanilla client. In this way I do not crash and the graphics load quickly.

Were you perhaps using a customer client when this happened? Did it happen frequently enough that if you used the vanilla client and it didn't happen for a while you would consider it to be a glitch in the client?

I think JC has had this bug reported before, and he's said it's not so much a bug. Gates, wether closed or open, passable or not all count as overlapping when you load over them. Same reason leantos still count as an obstacle when logging in, even though they're passable.

As for crashing from having too much to load, perhaps move the gate from being immediately outside the mine, as a quick fix to it.

Same happened to me today. So i went to sleep @ Grandbed, and on the next log-in, i crashed, after re-starting the game, it offered the same option, to drop whole inventory...
