account name : Zekken7 << cannot reset password doesn't exist.
applying for new account with user name Zekken7, Zekken7 already exists.
I posted this in case others returning from a recent email are having trouble logging in as well. I would also like my account to be fixed and provided with a another beta key for a friend since I had to make this new account to post/contact anyone of the forum for help.

You probably registered an account back when we were using Paradox Connect. For a while, it was possible to transfer such an account to a real account, but now that Paradox has taken down Connect, that's no longer possible.

Keep in mind I had a similar problem and others might have experienced this as well. The user name you create for your account IS CASE SENSITIVE. No other game does this keep in mind so this is a bit odd. If you try to log in with your name typed in all lower case it wont match the name created for you which has the first letter capitalized. The result is you cant seem to log into the game or the forum but when you go to create a new account with your user name it says the name is taken.
Can the devs make it so the user name is not case sensitive?

Even if I wanted to (which I don't), it's too late already in that there are usernames which differ only in case. :)

If you accidentally have a space at the end of the user name, it will fail, too. I'd recommend either trimming space from the end or giving a more helpful message, like: username "foo " or password were invalid.
It took me a few tries to realize it was an errant space causing my login to fail.
