Old account and password problem.

A few months ago I got into the alpha (or early beta? I don't remember), I registered the account "CowThing" and was able to play and log in perfectly fine. Today I wanted to play again after seeing I got a new beta key, I tried logging into my old account but I wasn't able to. I tried resetting the password and it said the user doesn't exist, I used both the user name and my email in the reset password field, neither worked. So I tried to make a new account with the name "CowThing" but I got an error that the name "CowThing" already existed, even though previously it was saying that account didn't exist.

I tried looking at this forum to find an administrator I could email but I had to be logged in to view the administrators list, so I registered a new account with the new beta key I got since I had no idea what else to do.

You probably registered an account back when we were using Paradox Connect. For a while, it was possible to transfer such an account to a real account, but now that Paradox has taken down Connect, that's no longer possible.

So is there a way of getting my old username back?

Indeed. Seeing as how Paradox Connect is down, I have simply no way to verify that you're the owner of that account.

At least not automatically, and I'm not going to go through everyone manually who wants to get their Paradox Connect-based accounts back. :)

Can't you free up the account names if not restore the accounts themselves?
