I have a problem with a pot not boiling stuff, The pot is full of water and the fire is lit but their is no progress bar for cooking anything. I tried to empty the pot and refill it but it is still not working.

I have a feeling you're doing something wrong. What is it that you're trying to boil? Give me more details.

There is a fuel meter and a heat meter, the heat needs to be up a certain bit before it starts cooking/boiling, also, sometimes it's bugged, taking stuff out and in again helps.

heat meter full, still has fuel, already tried emptying it and refilling it.

yes full heat
yes full blue bar for water.

from what i can tell its somthing to do with the fire place, moving the kettle to another fireplace seems to get it boiling however putting a different kettle on the first fire places causes it to not cook

This sometimes happens.
Jist take the things out, the pot in your inventory and place it again on fire. The the boiling works proper.

Indeed, this is a long-standing bug we haven't been able to track down. It happens when you light a fire that already has a pot on it, the pot doesn't always acknowledge the fire has been lit. You have to remove the pot into your inventory, and put it back on the fire.
