Salem

i was mining, found the entrance to the next mine level and got atacked by thousends of bats.
they killed me and now i chain die. every time i revive i die again. this cost me now about 100 prof points.....
i want to get my char rolled back with my skills i had before this ****** bug or i will quit this game.

Its not a bug, you need to quickly remove the bat that is currently attached to your neck. open your equipment slot and (I think its Shift+left click - might be right click) to remove the bat.

This is a common problem encountered by new players and has already been adjusted to give you more time to remove the bat (be quick to either kill it or run away as it will re-attach) and has proven to be quite useful at guiding new players to the forums to seek help and thus lead them to the wealth of knowledge and trade opportunity that are needed to fully understand and enjoy the game.
Its also a great way to weed out those who are simply not quite cut out for Salem before they waste too much of their time here - a very generous act in my eyes.

As she said remove it. Also the custom latikai client has an auto remove bat function. I would suggest downloading from the forums. Be proud sounds like you had your first major set back. Just be happy it did not end in your death or in the loss of really important items or structures. I know it feels disheartening now but the faster you get back on the saddle the faster you will recognize that every set back you triumph over shows how strong your will is.

Hey at least you didn't fight a giant bat during the blood moon and end up losing your main character to a bat on the neck. (I would not suggest fighting bats in the hookah room during blood moon.)

That's the spirit. Hell I was walking on egg shells all last week when I did a stupid crime on one of my characters and ended up with an attacker at my front door in the stockades twice, had to go on the lam, as well as check on and defend my scents frequently. Was a nerve racking but exciting week that could have ended in a TBC sitting by my homestead if I was not careful. Lesson learned do not do crime right outside of providence no matter how enticing that metal ax is lol.
