Game Crashes when using Gluttony

I started to play this game around two hours ago. I have been almost through the tutorial twice. But at some point or another, the game just crashes. It is not at any specific time.

I am using Windows 7, 64bit 4gb ram anyway I am able to start the game but after some time it just crashes. Screenshot with the error attached.

most people would have turned away long before me... for example one time i pressed ESC in game and the game just crashed (i expected that it would open option menu), after that I could not restart the game until I actually restarted the computer..

Edit: I see a lot of people had problems with intel based graphic cards. I am using an Intel HD 4000 graphic card. So it might be connected to that (though I wonder why the game is running fine up to a certain point).

Hi,

Does anyone else have this problem?

Each time I click on the Gluttony tab it causes my game to crash.

I have reloaded and reclogged 3 times and the same thing happens each time.

If anyone can offer advice to help me resolve this issue I would appreciate it.

Thanks

P.S. I am using the default client. There are no mods or additions made to this client.

At this point, I can't say much on this issue as I'm not seeing reports of it elsewhere, and prior reports give little help. If there is a code specific error here, the devs will hopefully correct it soon. Is the crash report always the same and occur at about the same point in the tutorial? If so, could you be more specific in what you were doing (may be unnecessary for fixing, but help getting any bugs fixed faster).

In the mean time, try these following steps:

Clear your Java cache of anything Salem related. A bad download may run, but causes random errors.

Verify you're running the latest version of Java. (If you're using an older version, make sure you''re using the latest release of that version.)

If you do crash again after this, you don't need to shut down your computer. You should open up Task Manager and end any running Java processes (java.exe, javaw.exe, javaws.exe). This will allow you to restart the client.

edit: ok, I am seeing one other issue with gluttony posted recently, so may have been a change recently that is causing problems that haven't been spotted.

Thanks for posting this, but we need more information if at all possible. What is the crash report? It can be very useful to the devs, and it can be copy/pasted. What version of Java and OS are you running?

This could be a code error, but in the mean time, see my recent post here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=13909#p206010

I am having the same issue. Windows 7 OS. It only began after the Insanity patch. I was playing up until 1 minute before that patch with no issues. Now on two characters, both have same issue, click on forks for glutony and crash error (same crash error as linked thread, copied my error log below).

Running latest Java and have rebooted after patch. Have not tried clearing java cache yet. Will try that next.

java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: bg
at haven.Gobble.<init>(Gobble.java:138)
at haven.GameUI.uimsg(GameUI.java:569)
at haven.UI.uimsg(UI.java:208)
at haven.RemoteUI.run(RemoteUI.java:69)
at haven.MainFrame.run(MainFrame.java:247)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

Thanks. I'm going to merge these two threads due to identical issues.

I usually check here first for any unresolved issues and just saw the new patch, so that is likely the cause (because of changes to the interface) if I were to take a stab at it.

edit: @s4vage--What graphics card are you using and driver version? It may not be related, but better to ask and not need it than need it and have to wait to get the answer.

Sorry but I am not sure if my problem has anything to do with Gluttony.

Video = ATI Mobilty Radeon HD 4250 on this machine. Have others I can test on as well if needed.
Driver = 8.721.0.0

Also tested clearing cache and complete removal and reload of Salem. No change, same error.
