Hello all,

If anyone could help with this it'd be greatly appreciated. I seem to be getting a Java error upon launching the client. This has happened for both Enders and the Default clients. The error message is as follows:

com.sun.deploy.net.FailedDownloadException: Unable to load resource: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/18779594/salem/salem2.jnlp
at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine.actionDownload(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.net.DownloadEngine._downloadCacheEntry(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResourceCacheEntry(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResourceCacheEntry(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.deploy.cache.ResourceProviderImpl.getResource(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.updateFinalLaunchDesc(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.prepareToLaunch(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Launcher.launch(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main.launchApp(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main.continueInSecureThread(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main.access$000(Unknown Source)
at com.sun.javaws.Main$1.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)

That's for the Enders client, same exact message from the Default, too. If there's an existing thread to this, I'm sorry, just point me to it.
Thanks in advance.

I can't think of any one fix for it. The "simple" fix is to try and clear the cache. This doesn't always work, though. There may be a case of network issues causing problems (make sure Java apps can pass firewalls and proper ports are open). I can't recall anything else off the top of my head at the moment.

FYI, there's no way the two reports could be identical. They might be similar, but they aren't going to be identical. Make sure to post the one from the default client only.

Thanks for the follow-up. I stand corrected!

I didn't mention this specifically. It seems some of the German players have issues with specific routers (forget brand/models off top of my head). They need to go into the router and configure the built-in firewall to allow traffic on TCP 1871 and UDP 1870. Make sure to check that, too. It could be an issue with other manufacturers, too.
