Inspiration gain (bug?)

I already had a stange feeling for a few days, and now I took the time to verify it.

Inspiration gain will go down the more you already have (in realtion to your max inspiration).
I can't say if its a curve, but it looks like it, at half (of max) inspiration, my chars gain only a fraction of what they should get per second.
Going lower (using up inspiration) will get its speed back to normal.

I hope that it's a bug, cause I won't be able to use up all my inspiration 3 times a days to get the most out of it.

As a side note, the inspiration-mechanic in general is not efficient, JC said he wants people to be able to take a few weeks break from salem and come back without much penalties.
Max inspiration being filled up in 3.3 days is exactly the opposite, it should NOT be related to how much % are already filled up, and be at least 1 week of inspiration that can be stored on a character.

As it is, it does take a week or more to cap off if your not using it. Why should we be allowed to have massive ip pools, so we can make a char log it off and log back on in a week or 2 and have enough ip stored to get say viscera in an afternoon? having it slowly cap off provides an incentive for people willing to improve their characters skills on a regular basis versus those that barely play.

has been slower the closer to cap since the beginning as far as i know, just drain your inspiration each day or two to maintain max regen rate.

I could be wrong, ofc, but this seems to be new, or at least, more noticeable than before.

I agree it would be wrong to have a massive inspiration storage, but being forced to empty it once a day, better more often, is not exactly a smart mechanic, it should be 2 days at least before a significant drop in inspiration gain/s.

Why I dare to say this is ..."not smart"?
Salem should not be easy, that's for sure, but more hardship does not always mean more challenge, and more grind done does not alway mean a greater feeling of accomplishment, blindly adding more and more of these is outright stupid, it all has to be in the right amount, and in the right relation to each other.
Maybe JC should start watching extra credits or so... :P

Encouraging players to log in once a day (at least while they are starting off, I can go a few days before my BB starts to slow now) is a good way to make Salem become a habit. The system as it is rewards the players that are clearly spending a lot of time and effort in the game while not letting them steam way out in the lead of players who maybe have less time to offer.

It does not make a difference how much BB you have, the time you have before you miss out a lot of inspiration is the same.

@JC: This mechanic is not good as it is, but I know you got a lot of other things to work on, and your reaction is only naturally protective because of that, so I forgive you your artificially harsh response as usual :) , just don*t forget about this, as it would be quite easy to fix.

What fascinates me, is that you can see the majority if not ENTIRE community disagree with your dumb ideas. INCLUDING the developer. And instead of taking a step back and saying "man my idea, and most of my ideas are really dumb maybe I should re-think them or realize this game isn't being designed for my playstyle etc. etc." you just keep pushing as if your opinion is going to outweigh everything else.

You are entitled to your opinions, no matter how stupid they are. But please tone down on force feeding them to us after everybody has rejected them and move on to the next perfectly functional intended system you have an issue with.

Yes, you too can have any opinion you want, I know it*s quite hard to be in the position that you are, and keeping a firm course is usually better than constantly re-aiming for the best course.
Yet, you tend to be so convinced of what you are doing, that it might not be for the best of this game, especially the two points that you know what everyone is thinking and wanting, and that you know best how everyone should play this game and how everyone should have fun with it.

If you feel you need to tailor the game to people with no job playing 18 hours a day then I am fine with that, go ahead, though if that is the case one might be wondering why you advertised the recent changes to crimes and claims as improvements for more casual players, not to speak of how you smash down some ideas of people saying realism has no place in salem, and using the tag "realism" to promote changes somewhere else, one might even think the course is not set yet.
