Items gone

Hello there, new player, here.
I made an alternate account on a different e-mail of course, and i put all my silver from my main on him. Like a bank.
After some more farming, 1 hour or so, i made more silver and wanted to put it again on the alt for safety. When i logged on my alt we has naked in Providence, with all the money and items gone.
Am i missing something ? or is it a bug ?

Yes, you are missing reading patch notes. You can not store any items on an alt that has no leanto. And even with a leanto, if it is not on a claim - it can be looted (though leaving a crime scent)

And yes, you've lost all your silver.

It's not a bug. You must have a homestead or you will lose all your items if you try to log off. Also, if someone finds your leanto while you are offline, your things can be stolen. Make sure to use the wilderness guide right away with your new character to get a leanto out in the wilderness where it is somewhat safe. Even safer is if you hike further out into the world and make a new leanto as soon as you can.

Thanks for the info. Well i will just make a leanto but then come to the city and leave him with all the items. That is what i inteded.

Then it still can be looted, safe alt vaulting is on this way almost impossible. So if you want to secure your items, build a base.
