I also had the stars dancing, so that might be related. I'm not sure if this is new at all, but I didn't see it before.
Wanted to provide a screenshot of my empty handslot and the character holding the torch, but ***** a key and did a combat move, which fixed it.

It's a graphical bug. It's fixed as soon as you character animations change (except walking) or when you enter a new area (Mine, building, etc...).

I just never had a lit torch equipped when I ko'd before (or just didn't unequip it right away after respawing), so I couldn't tell if it's new. Discard my post if it's not!

Yeah pretty sure it's not a new bug but it's a bug nonetheless and needs to be fixed ;p. No need to discard your bug post ahah.

Destroy stumps is supposed to be faster right? Does that count for stumps and old stumps? Destroying old stumps seems to be as slow as before.

All stump destroys are faster for new characters. Maybe not so much for old characters with high phlegm.

I searched for torch so please forgive me if this has been mentioned. Also I checked the patch notes, and searched it too. I couldn't find any reason for my torch now still using fuel when I am logged out, is this intentional, only happening to me, a bug? Is this to make us buy the Eternal Flame?

Sounds fishy, I see no reason why torches would behave differently.

I'll look into it more thoroughly, maybe it was human error on my behalf.
