easy way to solve this problem (blocking doors) - allow players to pass through other players in Boston area.

Thats not necessarily easy to do, it depends on how things are coded right now. I can imagine situations in which that would be incredibly hard to implement.

is ... a million ways to solve it :) but ban a player for it .... cruel. How long ban for such antics?

Then you can't block trade barrels to avoid third party interruptions.

Trade barrels are an awful mechanic though that will hardly improve once the population grows. Good luck even getting to a trade barrel in a crowded Boston let alone doing a safe trade in there.

The "fix" is to build your own windmill or provide other means of grinding grains without the need for a windmill. (Say an animal powered mill or hand-powered quern)

You're taking a barbaric example and making your case from there. It allowed room for thinking. Ideally, you'd have it set to force the player to move x amount of tiles by y amount of tiles buffered in front of the door. Not doing so, due to faggetry or plain old afkness, gets you sent to the town bell or home. When russian con artists moves, I move to the door, simple as that. If he doesn't, the system moves him for me. I know of a title where this was implemented, and works perfect till this day.

But, I will add I totally agree with adding a crude mechanism to mill flour. I would conjecture the mills in Boston were aesthetic in nature to begin with?

No. They're there because building a windmill is much more complex than what players have access to early, and milled grains are a major need well before a person/town gets access to the windmill.

I've always looked at flour as a means to higher tiered humour food via flour? Would make sense a Windmill is demanding effort to construct.

Wouldn't make sense to be able to grow grain a month before you can use it for anything.
