Don't be daft. If it's clipping, it's a bug.

Things getting tossed into the black spaces of a house: definitely a bug.

Items falling down a cliff so you can't reach them? Sounds reasonable to me. Problem I have is that I should be able to use whatever climbing techniques I have to fetch such items if they are "stuck in the cliff" instead of digging them out.
