As no one has mentioned the dramatic boost this gave to factions/organised people I thought I would. I'm not that bothered, I'm a hermit and I know I won't ever be as strong as the main factions, all I am saying is that people have already got high purity Iron because of this bug... seems a bit unfair.

This is ment as a gift from the devs to those factions/organised people or vets. They didn't fixed it right after the wipe but waited a few days so that a bunch of people can get some advantages. We spent almost a week to find a nice spot with lime and build a Town only to find out that the node is gone.Maybe it's time for us to disappear too...

Procne wrote:Since Plymouth's start it was a commonly accepted knowledge that woo-woo wands let you find nodes with purity components differing by less than 5 from wand's components.
In case of metal rods difference could be as high as 10 per component.

However, at some point it got broken. I can only guess it was the update introducing purity nodes, which allowed some purity on woo-woo wands. Since then it seemed that wands were simply showing all metal nodes.

Now people say it's fixed, so we should be back to the situation with max 5 difference for woo- woo wands

Have the dev's ever confirmed any of this?

I was finding 2% mines with 60% rods last game. I was also finding 29% Salt mines with 30% Lead rods that were nowhere near within 10 elemental points or 10% points of the rod.

The question is when were you finding those. Because at the beginning of plymouth the 5 point difference rule for wands and 10 for rods seemed to be true for me.
Only sometime after the purity update it got broken.

It was on Roa. It would just be really, really nice if the dev's actually explained how this worked to us, especially after a radical change to the mechanic like this so we had some clue what this game tool really did.

I would like to get an explanation about how braziers currently work, but devs simply like to have players figure everything out on their own

Jorb gave an exact equation for how the new brazier system works. The only thing we don't know is how far they have to be away and how much they hit for now. The dev's have never even explained the very basics of prospecting or the mechanics of wands and rods and both wiki's are wrong. I can't even imagine how a new player would view this on first getting the skill.

There's a big difference between letting them figure it out and repeatedly changing the mechanic within the game and not telling us what they changed or how it works.

Oh, I did. I'm just worried that people are going to start calling out legacy mines now and they'd be right to ***** imo.
