I would suggest you whittle a lot or go kill a dear and butcher all the meat into shreds and cook them. Then go to sleep with your teddy in a bed (sorry worth mentioning the bed). Or if you have some geods make you an affluence set and go smoke the hookah.

I have an affluence set I smoked the hookah at 6:30 pm and lowered madness to zero, unfortunately right after that there was a bloodmoon on providence, so now its back up to level 2. I am not asking for help with madness I am wondering why the Teddy bear is not working as it used to.

I would just test it again time it out completely. Just log the char off and wait 8 hours see if it works.

make sure to sleep in a bed. It won't work by simply logging off

Time isn't counted when server is down. So probably there is a problem.
