Not allowed to login for days - sent back to login screen

Postby mentalyll » Wed Dec 26, 2012 12:39 am

For about 2 weeks now I have been having a massive problem with Salem.
This happens on both my desktop, and my laptop, so might even be the account?

This problem happens on both the Ender client and the original one.
I login, get to the character screen without problems, and click the character I want to play on.

This is where the problem occurs: I click my character, and a black loading screen appears for a split second. After the split second, i'm back at the login screen. No error, no message, nothing.
Commonly, when I then again click login, it would say "Already logged in". Even when the process is not running. Luckily after 2 minutes I can try again to login. Select character, again I get sent back to the login screen.
There seems to be a very small chance I get trough, but then after 3 minutes i'll crash to the login screen. (without error or anything)
I also crash everytime a new area loads, like teleporting to Boston, or entering a house.

My desktop and laptop can both easily run Salem. The problem occured only after I've been playing for 2 weeks or so...

-Currently I use Java 7 update 10
-Windows 7 64bit
-100 Mbit fiber internets, connected with a standard cable
-A friend of mine can play with my character on his computer

This is the latest error I received after trying to login.

I have tried loads of things to fix this:

-Run as administrator
-Reinstall Java
-use different versions of Java
-Tried different clients and client versions
-Changing firewall options
-close all other processes
-etc etc

I really enjoy the game, and I need help.
Thanks in advance.

The "NullPointerException" error has been coming up a bit recently. I'm not sure what,if any, changes may be causing this, but you might try clearing out the cache for Java and try downloading again if you haven't. If you have tried this with no success, then I can't think of anything else to try at the moment.

I have tried deleting the cache and re-downloading everything several times, to no avail...

Nope. Teleport by dropping your inventory and hitting the button.

Or try asking someone you trust to log on your account to see if he'll have same issue.

Today is a glorious day, for I finally managed to fix this *****!

Probable solution: Open ports 1870 and 1871 in your router
I also run Salem in an isolated space now (Sandboxie)

I can now login without problems, and I can teleport as much as I want. ALthough sometimes that still goes wrong
