Hmm i'm not sure because it's first time when it happens.

Yesterday i chopped down tree and now i have hollow stump in place where should be normal stump. If i remember correctly making hollow stumps takes around 3-4 months not 24h oO

it's pure dumb luck: whenever a decay tick strikes a stump, it turns into an old stump IIRC. FTR claims do not stop decay ticks from striking, but they do stop them from causing damage.

Fun fact: i've actually had a stump turn into an old stump immediately on roanoke (we cut it down when someone was digging around us: as soon as the stump appeared it morphed into an old stump).
