Last time I checked, logging out inside of a leanto moved you a couple tiles away...dont see how boat is any different except it would require swimming to be engaged upon log in, which might be an issue.

I assume you mean if you log out after porting to your homestead (the leanto) and then logging out without moving?

In which case, no it doesn't move you. It treats the leanto like any other object in your way - it asks if you want to be TP'd to your homestead without losing your inventory.

I haven't actually tested it since right after Moo said they fixed it about a month ago. And when I did test it, it put me couple squares outside of my leanto.

So, i dont think spawning 2 tiles away would be used to wall jump while u cant build that close to water.
Yeah it might make u drown, but also theres chance to get back on the boat. there's almost no diference betwen drowning and porting back to your homestead.
In hnh if boat wasnt moved u log in back on boat and if it was moved u log on standing on water.
